Famous Kate's With Incredible Skin :
Allow the make-up you wear to remain flattering and
age-appropriate with these simple steps.
If you're still using makeup products you chose in your 20s,
you're way overdue for a change. Here's some advice from a friend of ours,
Laura Snavely, a makeup artist for Bobbi Brown.
·
Slather on moisturizer and use eye cream if you need it. To even
out skin tone, use a tinted moisturizer or a hydrating foundation. Skin loses
moisture because of hormonal changes. Look for moisturizers and foundation that
contain sunscreen (which you should always use).
·
Wear mostly matte eyeshadows. White, bone, and shell are colors
that will make your eyes appear bigger and more open.
·
Line your lids. You don't want a thick slash, just definition.
Gel liner and damp shadow liner work wonders when applied "tight"
into the lash line. Softly smudge the line with a Q-tip or smudge brush for a
softer look.
·
If your lids are starting to droop, don't use liner or mascara
on the lower edge. Use white eye shadow under the arch of your brow to draw the
eye up. Use a blush color (pale pink, apricot) that will brighten your face.
Dark, intense blushes will make the skin look "saggy." Bronzers
should be used to give skin warmth and evenness. They shouldn't make the skin
look "dirty."
·
A lighter lip color is more youthful. You can still use an
intense color — just avoid heavy hues, especially dark browns. Use liner to
prevent seepage and keep lipstick on your lips.
·
Pick out a feature that you particularly like, such as your
eyes, and make that your focal point. Keep everything else soft.
·
Skin needs to be beautiful from the inside out. Eat right, drink
water, exercise, and have a good attitude!
